Before the run

We propose to found a project team consisting of teachers and students in order to organize the “Pattaya Orphanage School Run”.

The following steps will help you schedule the run:

1. Choose a date. You can also combine the Pattaya Orphanage School Run with other events such as sports events, summer festivals, end of a project week etc.

2. Choose a suitable circuit like sports fields or around the school building or anything convenient. Please make sure that every student can run the track as often as he likes even in bad weather.

3. Promote the school run e.g. inform your school-mates about the event during school sessions, visit other classes or write an article about the event in the school magazine or by newsletter.
Inform your school-mates about the “Pattaya Orphanage” and introduce the “Pattaya Orphanage Schoolrun” to them so they know exactly why they are collecting donations. Use the information material of this homepage especially the powerpoint presentation. Copy the information sheet and hand it out to your school-mates.

4. Invite your local press to the event (download the new items on this page) and distribute flyers to attract attention.

5. Distribute the Sponsor Cards to your school-mates at least six weeks before the run, so they can look for possible donors who are prepared to donate money for every lap/kilometer.

6. Open a bank account where you can transfer the financial donation to. Ask you headmaster if you could use a bank account the school already ownes.

7. Organize some catering for the runners and spectators. Maybe you are able to find a sponsor for the catering by asking companies or shops or ask school-mates/parents if they would like to contribute something to the catering.

8. Estabish an information stand at the day of the event where information material about the Pattaya Orphanage and the schoolrun is presented.

9. Please make sure that sufficient medical help is guaranteed during the whole event (medical service).
